ALAWIYA is a seasoned principal scientific officer and licensed environmental health officer; a climate change activist, environmentalist, and involved in Water, Sanitation, And Hygiene (WASH) projects. She obtained a master’s degree in Inorganic Chemistry from Bayero University Kano, Nigeria, and a BSc. in Chemistry from Kano University of Science and Technology Wud. She is the Founder of AWIFCA
She has led and participated in several climate change mitigation and adaptation projects and as a UNICEF facilitator on climate change resilience in the WASH sector. Over the past 9 years, Alawiyya has worked as a Chemist with the pollution control laboratory at the Kano State Ministry of Environment.
Mrs. Alawiyya is passionate about women’s empowerment and youth entrepreneurship. She also provides strategic sustainable solutions on how to achieve universal access to clean cooking solutions in Nigeria and Africa. She is dedicated, driven, and determine to accomplish goals and aspirations for the ACIDC group. Her team spirit and the ability to engage with teams and tap into extensive networks and partnerships globally are noble addition.
