Geoffrey Kirenga is an accomplished professional with seasoned expertise in agricultural sector transformation, pest management, and plant protection. He is passionate about agriculture and has been at the forefront of transforming Tanzania’s food systems, tactfully championing an improved business environment for improved crop and livestock investments.
His background is in crop protection, for which he acquired a Master’s (MSc.) degree from the Imperial College, University of London. Over the years, as an employee of the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) and now SAGCOT, he acquired considerable experience in Tanzania’s food system. He has previously served as Assistant Director for Crop Promotion, and Assistant Director for Extension before being promoted to the Director of the Crop Development Division at the MoA. Kirenga’s extensive network in the Tanzanian and international agriculture and agribusiness communities is an asset to all that wish to venture into Tanzania’s crops and livestock sectors. Mr. Kirenga remains committed to improving agricultural productivity, food security, and livelihoods through many opportunities brought about in the bid to transform Tanzania’s and Africa’s food systems.
