Ingrid is a Jamaican-born, an entrepreneur who is aspired to create solutions, improve lives, and make possibilities a reality for Melanated people in and out of Africa. Her vision is to manufacture products using our natural resources to create valueadded food products and building materials such as wall panels, preconstructed home roofing tiles, floor tiles, and preconstructed furniture for homes, schools, offices, and the hospitality industry from materials made in African by Africans for Africans.

Ingrid Forbes-Hall is a mother, licensed Civil Engineer, Architect, designer, sustainable agriculturist, Food visionary, and Entrepreneur with 25 years of experience in building designs, construction, and infrastructure development. She consulted and worked with several Engineering firms in Connecticut and New York State Department of Transportation, in construction, designed, road restoration, Bridges inspection and designs, drainage systems, sewer systems, Railroads connecting systems, building structures, environment accessor, structural restoration of airport runways, taxiway and aprons. She created the first vegetable ice cream in 2002 and has been working in food industry to help small businesses to develop Food science technology, Food processors, and Manufacturer industry. Ingrid believes the Continent has an abundance of food wastage and is focusing on reducing that wastage into valve-added products.

Ingrid is the Founder/CEO of seven companies in and out of the continent. INGY NATURAL & ORGANIC (New York & Nigeria) was created to fulfill the need for desirable frozen desserts using Dairy, Nondairy, Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, Exotic Liquors, Natural & Organic blends of juices/smoothies, herbal Tea, Spices, Dry Fruits, Gluten-free Flour, Pasta and can meats. We aspired to address the need to minimize food wastage, create Sustainable Food Storage for the future, and to help rural farmers. INGY & IF Inc. (NY & Nigeria) supplies sustainable design and building materials for the construction of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings as well as infrastructure roadways, bridges, and sidewalks, she believes in utilizing our natural environment and capitalizing on our local source of raw materials to econ-friendly living with minimal impact on our ecosystem. Zario has utilized natural herbs, seeds, plants, and trees to create natural products for pain, hair, and body from small villages in Northern Nigeria. Our goal is to buy products from small farmers and processors to encourage small farmers and local producers to key in the value chain to create a value-added products. Ingrid believes this concept can change the economics of each village or town we participate or do business.

Mr. Dortimi Kester Tawari is a graduate of Laws (LL.B Hons) Obafemi Awolowo University, lle-Ife, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989. He holds a Masters Degree in International Relations (M.Sc. Int’l Relations) from the University of Benin. Holds Advanced Professional Diploma in Sustainable Development SDG Volunteerism/Skills-Preneurship from Hetaved Skills Academy for Innovation and Entrepreneurship 2021.

Mr. Tawari is armed with well over 30 year Post Call Experience and has worked as a Private  Legal Practitioner, Legal Adviser in the past, experience in Knowledge and Corporate Re-engineering, Developmental Issues and is familiar with compliance, law and Corporate Governance.

 His work experience is quite vast, attesting to his versatility and dedication to duty in the various positions he has been privileged to occupy. He began his working career briefly with Olisa Agbakoba & Associates and then with Civil Liberties Organization, Lagos. Mr. Tawari has also held different positions in the corporate world. He was Head of the Recovery Unit of the defunct Allstates Trust Bank; then Head, Legal and Risk Management at Resort Savings and Loans Limited, Lagos from which he joined Emo Oil and Petrochemical Limited as Executive Secretary to the Chairman/CEO on Energy and Mining and then GM. Human Resources, Community Relations and Legal, Emo Ashapura Energy and Mining Limited, Abuja. He was Personnel/Head, Post Training and Engagements Unit, Amnesty Programme, in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, for the sustainable Reintegration / Alternative Livelihood Support Programme for Ex-Militants. Ehimatie is a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), an elected Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), a member of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE), member of the Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers (NIWE), member of the Project Management Institute, USA and a chartered member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (NICArb).

In addition to his bachelor’s in civil engineering, he also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Human Resources) and an Executive Master's Certificate in Project Management. He has attended several local, national, and international workshops and conferences. He is the Chairman and founder of Water, Sanitation and Rural Development (WASARD) Organisation, an engineering-based non-governmental organization.


As Head of Membership Services of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), he was in charge of conceptualizing, designing, and coordinating membership activities for the then 58 NSE Branches in the 36 states of Nigeria. His knowledge of Arbitration, Project Management, and business acumen is very useful in managing resources, identifying, and mitigating risks associated with various projects to ensure proper project forecasting, budgeting, timely implementation, and quality deliverables, while avoiding and resolving workplace and external work-related disputes, to achieve set goals, to time and budget.


His love and passion for the African tribes and cultures made him receive the Certificate of Honour for winning the President of Nigeria’s Giant Gold Gong in the National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST 89). Engr. Ovens F. Martell Hurlock

Martell Hurlock is a professional Master Gardener and Agronomist by training and experience. Martell is an interior horticulture specialist, and a consultant on the greenhouse production of ornamental plants, fruits, and vegetables. Martell attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture specializing in Plant and Soil Science.


Martell’s experience also includes being a business owner at the age of 21 for the Greenleaf Restaurant and supervising another, Munir’s Steakhouse in Queens, New York. He has also worked with Madlyn Simon & Associates, an Interior Plantscaping Company, as an Interior plant technician, with Interior Foliage Designs as a plant Technician, as a supervisor with Kiwi Interiors, and at Blondies Treehouse as a Quality Control Specialist. Martell was an Assistant Zone Gardner in the New York City Park System, Central Park Conservancy for 3 years.


Martell is currently working as a horticultural consultant, on establishing a twenty-unit hydroponic greenhouse farming operation for cut flowers and vegetable production on the island of St Lucia, as part of a contract for a major hotel chain. Along with being a volunteer at the University of the District of Columbia’s experimental farm, Martell is also a volunteer’s teacher in urban farming techniques to adults and youths in the city of Washington D.C. Martell has also done Soybean and Black eye peas research as part of his independent studies with Dr. Robert Dadson at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.


In addition to his training and experience in his field, he is also an accomplished percussionist, poet, and chanter with an upcoming album. A lover of martial arts and a great fan of sports. Martell currently resides in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Alawiya Musa

ALAWIYA is a seasoned principal scientific officer and licensed environmental health officer; a climate change activist, environmentalist, and involved in Water, Sanitation, And Hygiene (WASH) projects. She obtained a master’s degree in Inorganic Chemistry from Bayero University Kano, Nigeria, and a BSc. in Chemistry from Kano University of Science and Technology Wud. She is the Founder of AWIFCA

She has led and participated in several climate change mitigation and adaptation projects and as a UNICEF facilitator on climate change resilience in the WASH sector. Over the past 9 years, Alawiyya has worked as a Chemist with the pollution control laboratory at the Kano State Ministry of Environment.

Atoji Ernest Onwe

ATOJI, ERNEST ONWE is a Nigerian, who is inspired to work with people from the diaspora to impact and improved the economy and social environments in and out of Nigeria and the Continent at large. Mwatima is a Rural Development Specialist retired from International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD). Now she is a full-time permaculture organic farmer with experience as an Agroecology organic farmer activist and environmentalist. She obtained a Ph.D. in agronomy. from Wye College, University of London, and a BSc from Sokoine University of Agriculture Morogoro, Tanzania.She is the chair of the Tanzania Organic Agriculture Movement and participated in several discussions and awareness against the use of industrial chemicals in our farming and taking care of our soils for sustainable production. She is also the board chair for Practical permaculture institute Zanzibar where actively engaged youth focus on social enterprises and permaculture training.  Mwatima is also a chair of the Forum for African Women Educationalist Zanzibar chapter. Geoffrey Kirenga is an accomplished professional with seasoned expertise in agricultural sector transformation, pest management, and plant protection. Mr. Johnson Opigo graduated in 1983 from the University of Calabar with a B.Sc. Degree in Economics. However he started life after graduation as a freelance Graphic Artist which he combined with managing the Sawmill Division of the family business. After four years he was in the employment of the Rivers State Government Newspaper Corporation, first as a Graphic Artist and later as a Features Writer on Economic Affairs in the Editorial department.

His three year stint in journalism ended in 1990 when he secured an appointment as a pioneer staff of Crystal Bank of Africa (now in combination with UBA as Standard Trust Bank) rising rapidly through the ranks to the position of Deputy Manager, a position he held until he left the banking profession in 1995 to set up his ICT consultancy company, Net Endeavours Ltd. He found comfort in Information Technology where he has so far spent 28 years as a consultant in ICT training, web design, web development, and mobile technologies.

Mr. Opigo has over the years consulted for several high net-worth individuals, banks, employers’ associations, manufacturing companies, oil companies, Ministries and Agencies of the Federal Government as well as State governments, and international organizations including the International Chamber of Commerce Nigeria (ICCN), United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) where he taught courses in Innovative Collaboration for Development and as a trainer for the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation, Netherlands (CTA) where he facilitated training workshops in Web Design, Web Development and Web 2.0 technologies and applications in Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific countries.

Joseph Ndunguru

JOSEPH NDUNGURU has a PhD in Plant Pathology, a Masters in Agronomy Specialized in Plant Virology, and a BS in Crops Sciences. As a scientist his research interests focuses on understanding plants and plant pathogens at the molecular level, their genomics, gene expression and on developing resistance to plant pathogens such as viruses and other pathogens of economic importance in Africa. He also uses molecular techniques to identify plant phytocompounds that can be exploited for medicinal use in Africa. Joseph brings 13 years of research and development experience to drive ACIDC to a new era of medicine by using plants.

An innovative and experienced individual with expertise in project management and creative problem-solving. Skilled in project coordination and innovative solution development with extensive experience and record in resource mobilization from a wide range of donors such as government organizations, regional donors, foundations, international institutions and donors, private sector and non-government organizations.

Doctor of Philosophy in Plant Pathology, University of Pretoria, South Africa. Dissertation on Molecular characterization of cassava mosaic geminiviruses in Tanzania, Research conducted at the International Laboratory for Tropical Agricultural Biotechnology (ILTAB), Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, St. Louis, USA.  Rresearch interests focus on understanding plants and plant pathogens at the molecular level, their genomics, gene expression and on developing resistance to plant pathogens such as viruses and other pathogens of economic importance in Africa.  I also use molecular techniques to identify plant phytocompounds that ca be exploited for medicinal use in Africa.

 Professor Joseph served as Director of Research of the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute, Selian Centre, Arusha, Tanzania 09/2018-05/2021, Director of Research and Innovation of the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute, Dodoma, Tanzania  06/2022-01/2023 and is currently the Acting Director General, Tanzania Plant Health and Pesticide Authority, Arusha, Tanzania. He speaks English and Swahili.

Janet Y. Lawerence

Janet Y. Lawerence is an talented Jamaican born Film writers and director. Her parents migrated to the UK when she was an infant and was educated in London, England.

Alongside her first degree, she studied film and television. Her first film for channel 4 in 1985/6, Mistaken for Mad, looked at the Caribbean and Asian communities and mental health. She worked briefly in the BBC newsroom and freelanced in the industry and developed several projects for the BBC. Janet worked on the series Eye on the Prize in the US on the history of the Civil Rights Movement created and produced by Henry Hampton. It was nominated for an OSCAR and numerous other awards, including an Emmy and a Peabody.

She is a member of Women in Film and television, the The Royal Television Society, and the British Film Institute and was invited to the Sundance Film Festival by Robert Redford. She was a temporary editor for The Gleaner (UK) and a board member of the Edinburgh Film Festival. In addition, she is a guest lecturer and has been a private tutor. She is currently filming a documentary.
